rather than a radio show. This becomes a reality through radio by providing a source
of security, warmth and fellowship that is highly interactive with the family members.

alone. Creating entertainment that builds rather than destroys character by mixing
humor, insight, inspiration and news in a manner which compliments rather than insults
the intelligence or sensibilities of the audience. Playing appropriate mixes in various
genres of country music responsibly with an over-arching emphasis on up-tempo, hopeful
music, involving listeners through request plays and even short skits with high attention
to the protection of the listener’s dignity. Presenting this entertainment in a such
a way that parents have full confidence in the security of their children to listen
to it without their supervision. These functions serve with the overall intent of
getting the NightRide family members safely through the night by being the radio
icon of truth and integrity in the fulfillment of these objectives both on-air and
off.
About NightRide USA
‘The NightRide’ became the name of what was to become the most unique radio show
in the country soon after its launch in June of 2002 from WBRF Radio, Blue Ridge
Country 98, Galax, Virginia. ‘NightRider’ had tried several slogans until he suddenly
said on-air, “Welcome. You’re On The NightRide.” Since, listeners across a four state
FM coverage area to begin with, enhanced later by live-stream covering the world
and now syndication have been able to instantly recognize the show by that slogan.
The name of the show has always included ‘NightRide’ and was changed in 2009 to NightRide
USA anticipating international franchise of the show. NightRide USA has enjoyed consistent
and significant increases in listenership each year. ‘NightRider’ has always affectionately
referred to his listeners as “The NightRide Family” out of a conviction that it truly
is a large, multi-national family as proven by the listeners each night. NightRide
USA is an energetic, inspirational and interactive radio experience that defies description.
NightRide USA cannot be adequately described. Only experienced. Only then does one
realize that NightRide USA really IS “the most unique ride on radio.”
Bruce Hodges - ‘The NightRider’
Bruce Hodges - Host of NightRide USA‘NightRider’ is the name given the host of NightRide
USA in 2002. Biographies are designed to give the life experience of an individual.
While experience can be said to shape an individual, it doesn’t define them. Their
response to life experience defines them. Therefore, very briefly, ‘The NightRider’
has studied at five colleges and universities and holds a master’s degree. He is
an Eagle Scout, member of the Order Of The Arrow, is maternally native American and
paternally Scot, the son of hard working parents in the United States. He is well
acquainted with hard work himself and has held management positions in multi-national
companies, has been key note speakers for national organizations and has run his
own consulting business in customer and employee relations. In addition, he is a
certified clinical counselor. These things, along with the adversities that are part
of life to one degree or another, has shaped ‘The NightRider.’ He is, however, defined
by the fact that he seeks to focus it all to a point of light strong enough to beam
across America and the world the hope that can be found in articulating and pursuing
value systems representing patriotism instead of politics, spirituality instead of
religion, diversity instead of isolationism and interactivity toward cooperation.
Hillary is the personified essence of the spirit of NightRide USA and NightRide International. As a host of NightRide USA (the show), she has proven herself time and again to be quick witted, amiable, intelligent yet discreet in her on-air affect. ‘FireFly’ was the name given her by NightRider as she seems to ‘light up’ the night with a fresh, pure-hearted and hopeful demeanor that truly reflects her heart; And a determination, genuinely reflecting her spirit, to reach out to those in need. Her talents and abilities serve NightRide USA Radio in many not-so-obvious ways, however. She holds a college degree in I.T. and has a talent, informed by an insight well beyond her years, for communication and counseling. While a woman, she has the voice and spirit of a child; An innocence that is disarming until a steel will is brought to life, honed by adversities that she has used and adapted in ways that allow her to contribute to the solutions for the problems of our day.
